FreshStarts Job Coach
Reports to Mental Health Recovery Manager

Shelter House is currently accepting applications for a full-time FreshStarts Job Coach (35-40 hours a week) evening hours (3-11pm).

Position Overview: The position will oversee the operations of the Fresh Starts Janitorial team. The position is responsible for the quality of work done on contracted sites and providing training and behavioral health support to the clients working directly on the cleaning crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vocational direction and direct support to clients on the janitorial, Fresh Starts crew.
  • Ensure Shelter House fulfills all janitorial service contract obligations.
  • Conduct job training and development for janitorial clients.
  • Order cleaning supplies and applicable equipment necessary.
  • Create the weekly staffing schedule.

Shelter Coordinator
Reports to Shelter Manager

Shelter House is currently accepting applications to fill a part-time coordinator position;
20 – 25 hours/week.

Position Overview: Shelter Coordinators are responsible for maintaining and regulating the overnight emergency shelter facility, updating and documenting paper and electronic files, and delegating tasks to volunteers while maintaining a healthy and safe environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the priority list and intake process.
  • Complete paper and electronic documents.
  • Monitor potential and intervene in crisis situation.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and stable shelter environment.

Coordinated Entry Coordinator
Reports to Shelter Manager

Shelter House is currently accepting applications to fill a full-time Coordinated Entry Coordinator position; 40 hours/week.

Position Overview: The position is responsible for providing screening, shelter diversion, and intakes for individuals and families experiencing homelessness into shelter and to provide support to the coordinated entry system. The Coordinated Entry Coordinator will also coordinate the daily drop-in center and work closely with volunteers to help manage in-kind donations to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take phone calls and walk-in requests for emergency shelter and assign available beds based on need.
  • Divert people from shelter to another safe living situation when appropriate.
  • Provide support to the coordinated entry system with administering assessments and data entry.
  • Interact with the public and process in-kind donations as they come in to the agency.
  • Collect and distribute donations to those in need.
  • Intervene and appropriately de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Provide oversight so that a safe and healthy environment is maintained at all times.
  • Communicate information regarding services and housing opportunities to clients.
  • Provide a welcoming environment to clients, donors, volunteers, and the general public.
