BBQ Bash, September 21, 2018
Bring yourself and your appetite to the BBQ Bash, our annual fall shindig, on September 21. It’s a night of fun and games, delicious food, and lively music for the entire family at the Johnson County Fairgrounds. Proceeds from ticket sales and bags tournament registrations directly support Shelter House programs to provide safe emergency shelter, case management services which connect people with necessary resources to move beyond homelessness, and mental health recovery programs through successful supportive community living.
Adult tickets GROWN FOLK (age 13+ and adults) $35.00
Children tickets JUNIOR PITMASTER (age 6 to 12) $10.00 | LIL’ GRILLER (age 3 to 5) $5.00 | Age 2 and under: Free
Entrees include choice of smoked meats, sides, dessert, and drinks. One free beer/wine per adult ticket. Choose from local craft beer donated by Big Grove Brewery, hard apple cider donated by Wilson’s Orchard, or a selection of wines provided by House Wine. Sides prepared by Catered by Charlotte and Z’s Catering & BBQ and delicious sweets from Heyn’s Ice Cream, Molly’s Cupcakes and The Pink Umbrella Bakery. Stop by our munchies table with goodies donated by Fareway. Special thanks to Iowa City Downtown Rotary and their talented pitmasters who are smokin’ up a delicious meal!
Cedar County Cobras will entertain us with boot-stompin’ music that can only be found down the gravel roads of Iowa. Their music has been described as contagious, acoustic rockabilly, dancing bluegrass, or brand new old-time country with the gritty sound of soulful blues. Local artist, Barry Phipps, will also be on-hand to spin records and keep the fun and entertainment alive throughout the evening.
Thanks to our community & corporate partners for sponsoring our signature event to raise funds for Emergency Shelter and Rapid Rehousing Programs.
